ScopeThis workshop was conceived to be a satellite workshop to the International Conference on Electron Spectroscopy and Structure (ICESS-14), which will be held in Shanghai between Oct. 8th and 12th, 2018. It covers a broad range of experimental and theoretical hot topics of gas-phase molecules, liquids, solids and their surfaces/interfaces studied by various spectroscopic methods such as photoelectron spectroscopy, x-ray absorption spectroscopy, operand and/or in situ microscopy, and time-resolving techniques. The workshop aims to foster exchange about recent progress and future trends in the spectroscopic methods including novel excitation sources such as synchrotron radiation, higher harmonics generation, and FEL, as well as their use in materials science. The program consists of plenary, invited, and poster contributions.
