Important Notice: Saijo Sake Festival, which is the largest festival in this area, will be held on Oct. 6th - 7th, 2018. Hotels in Saijo will be extremely crowded during the festival. Although we reserved guest house in the campus, the capacity is limited. We would like to recommend you to reserve your hotel well in advance.

We do not authorize any third party company (travel agency, hotel, call center, etc.) to individually contact participants and invited speakers for making room reservations, shuttle services, etc. If you have a suspicious contact (especially asking your credit card numbers), please inform us.

Scope

This workshop was conceived to be a satellite workshop to the International Conference on Electron Spectroscopy and Structure (ICESS-14), which will be held in Shanghai between Oct. 8th and 12th, 2018. It covers a broad range of experimental and theoretical hot topics of gas-phase molecules, liquids, solids and their surfaces/interfaces studied by various spectroscopic methods such as photoelectron spectroscopy, x-ray absorption spectroscopy, operand and/or in situ microscopy, and time-resolving techniques. The workshop aims to foster exchange about recent progress and future trends in the spectroscopic methods including novel excitation sources such as synchrotron radiation, higher harmonics generation, and FEL, as well as their use in materials science. The program consists of oral (invited/contributed) and poster sessions.
