Bus service from Hiroshima International Airport to JR Saijo station
There are two ways to go to the JR Saijo station, the closest JR train station to the Higashi-Hiroshima campus.

1) via JR Shiraichi station
Please take the Geiyo Bus to the JR Shiraichi station, transfer to the train bound for Saijo, Hiroshima and Iwakuni, and get off at the JR Saijo station. It takes approximately 15 minutes from the Hiroshima International Airport to the JR Shiraichi station by bus, and about 10 minutes from the JR Shiraichi to JR Saijo station by train. There is a bus stop for the JR Shiraichi station outside the Arrival Floor.

2) via Airport Limousine Bus

As only Kodama shinkansen stop at the JR Higashi-Hiroshima Station and public transportation from the station to Hiroshima University is very limited, we recommend to use JR Saijo station rather than JR Higashi-Hiroshima station.
There are bus service between JR Higashi-Hiroshima station and Hiroshima University.

JR service from JR Hiroshima station (Shinkansen) to JR Saijo station
Please take the JR Sanyohonsen line (local line) bound for Saijo, Shiraichi and Okayama. The train usually departs from platform 5, but occasionally will depart from other platforms. It will take approximately 40 minutes by ordinary train. Please get off at the JR Saijo station (the 9th local station from the Hiroshima station).

Taxi

A taxi from the Hiroshima International Airport to the Higashi-Hiroshima campus takes about 40 minutes and costs ~6,000 yen.

Bus service between Hiroshima University and the JR Higashi-Hiroshima station is not frequent. Taxi cost is ~2000 yen but generally saves a lot of travel time to and from the JR Higashi-Hiroshima station.
